Hyla truncata Izecksohn, 1959, Rev. Brasil. Biol., 19: 259. Holotype: EI 107, by original designation. Type locality: "próxima à margem direita do rio Guandu, no km 37 da Rodovia Presidente Dutra, no municipio de Itaguaí, Estado do Rio de Janeiro, Brasil".

Coastal lowlands of Rio de Janeiro (state), Brazil, up to 50 m elevation.

Comment

In the Hyla truncata group, possibly close to Sphaenorhynchus, according to the original publication. Subsequently transferred to Xenohyla by Izecksohn, 1998 "1996", Rev. Univ. Rural, Ser. Cienc. Vida, 18: 47-52. Izecksohn and Carvalho-e-Silva, 2001, Anf. Municipio Rio de Janeiro: 65, provided a brief account and photo.
