Comment

Not assignable to species group, although intermediate between the Hyla larinopygion and Hyla pulchella groups according to the original publication; the authors also noted (p. 348) that the Hyla larinopygion group is not diagnosable, contra Duellman, De la Riva, and Wild, 1997, Sci. Pap. Nat. Hist. Mus. Univ. Kansas, 3: 36, excluding Hyla armata. Faivovich, Garcia, Ananias, Lanari, Basso, and Wheeler, 2004, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 32: 943, demonstrated, on the basis of molecular characters, a close relationshiop with Hyla armata in the Hyla larinopygion group. In the Hyloscirtus larinopygion group of Faivovich, Haddad, Garcia, Frost, Campbell, and Wheeler, 2005, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 294: 85.
