Hypsiboas alfaroi Caminer and Ron, 2014, ZooKeys, 370: 47. Holotype: QCAZ 43262, by original designation. Type locality: "Ecuador, Provincia Orellana, Parque Nacional Yasuní, 1 km from Northern Production Facilities (NPF) oil camp (0.6893°S, 76.4290°W), 238 m above sea level". Zoobank:

English Names

Alfaro's Treefrog (original publication). 


Ecuadorian northern Amazon region (Napo, Orellana, and Sucumbíos provinces) and Assis, Acre, Brazil, elevations of 176 to 350 m; expected in intervening Peru. 


In the Hypsiboas albopunctatus species group, Hypsiboas calcaratus complex, most similar to Hypsiboas tetete according to the original publication. Carvalho, Bang, Teixeira, and Giaretta, 2017, Check List, 13(4): 135–139, provided the record from Assis, Acre, Brazil.
