Comment

In the Pseudacris nigrita group of Faivovich, Haddad, Garcia, Frost, Campbell, and Wheeler, 2005, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 294: 106. Removed from the synonymy of Pseudacris triseriata by Hedges, 1986, Syst. Zool., 35: 1–21. Platz, 1989, Copeia, 1989: 704–712, retained Pseudacris feriarum and Pseudacris kalmi as subspecies of one species but suggested that they might also be distinct species on the basis of data presented by Hedges. Collins, 1997, Herpetol. Circ., 25: 12, considered these to be distinct species; without discussion, and this was confirmed by Lemmon, Lemmon, Collins, Lee-Yaw, and Cannatella, 2007, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 44: 1068–1082. See comment under Pseudacris kalmiDodd, 2013, Frogs U.S. and Canada, 1: 348–357, provided an account that summarized the relevant literature. Elliot, Gerhardt, and Davidson, 2009, Frogs and Toads of N. Am.: 88–89, provided an account, photos, and advertisement call. Altig and McDiarmid, 2015, Handb. Larval Amph. US and Canada: 210–212, provided an account of larval morphology and biology.
