Comment

Confused with Anomaloglossus beebei and Allobates marchesianus prior to its description; see original publication for larval morphology and advertisement call. See account for Suriname population by Ouboter and Jairam, 2012, Amph. Suriname: 24-26, who noted that the Suriname populations have a different call than the populations in Guyana, suggested the need for further study. Fouquet, Vidal, and Dewynter, 2019, Zoosystema, 41: 367, reported the species from the Mitaraka Massif in southwestern French Guiana, on the border with Amapá, Brazil (but noting its absence there). Réjaud, Rodrigues, Crawford, Castroviejo-Fisher, Jaramillo-Martinez, Chaparro, Glaw, Gagliardi-Urrutia, Moravec, De la Riva, Pérez-Peña, Lima, Werneck, Hrbek, Ron, Ernst, Kok, Driskell, Chave, and Fouquet, 2020, J. Biogeograph., 47: 2472–2482, noted a cryptic species (now Allobates vicinus) associated with this taxon. See Fouquet, Ferrão, and Jairam, 2023, Zootaxa, 5297: 533–561 noted an allied (Allobates aff. granti 2) mtDNA matrilines associated with this species in northern Pará, Brazil, and extreme southern Suriname.
