Lepidobatrachus llanensis Reig and Cei, 1963, Physis, Buenos Aires, 24: 198. Holotype: IBAUNC 037/1, by original designation. Type locality: "Punta de los Llanos (La Rioja)", Argentina.

Distribution

La Rioja, Formosa, Cordoba, Salta, Catamarca, Santiago del Estero, and Chaco provinces, Argentina; also adjacent Paraguay (Departamento Alto Paraguay) and in the Province of Gran Chaco, Department of Tarija, Bolivia.

Comment

Reichle, Embert, and Faivovich, 2004, Herpetol. Rev., 35: 282, reported this species in Bolivia. Brusquetti and Lavilla, 2006, Cuad. Herpetol., 20: 16, briefly discussed the range in Paraguay. Faivovich, Nicoli, Blotto, Pereyra, Baldo, Barrionuevo, Fabrezi, Wild, and Haddad, 2014, S. Am. J. Herpetol., 9: 207–227, suggested that Lepidobatrachus llanensis is the sister taxon of Lepidobatrachus laevis
