Distribution

Known only from the Cerro El Humo on the Península de Paria, Sucre, northern Venezuela, 750 to 800 m elevation.

Comment

In the Cochranella granulosa group according to the original publication. Señaris and Ayarzagüena, 2005, Rev. Taxonom. Fam. Centrolenidae de Venezuela: 100-108, provided a review of the morphology, natural history, and range of this species (as Cochranella castroviejoi). Kok and Castroviejo-Fisher, 2008, Zootaxa, 1680: 25-53, placed this species in the Cochranella helenae group.
