Centrolenella geijskesi Goin, 1966, Stud. Fauna Suriname and other Guyanas, 8: 77. Holotype: RMNH 11041, by original designation. Type locality: "at about 200 meters altitude on the south slope of the Wilhelmina Mountains, District Nickerie, Suriname".

English Names

Wilhelmina Cochran Frog (Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 47).

Distribution

Known from central Suriname, from the type locality (Wilhelmina Mountains) and from Raleigh valley the Sipaliwini Nature Reserve, and Mitaraka Massif in southern Suriname as well as in southern French Guiana; presumably in adjacent Amapá, Brazil.

In the Cochranella ocellata group according to Ruiz-Carranza and Lynch, 1991, Lozania, 57: 1-30. Placed in the Cochranella spinosa group by Savage, 2002, Amph. Rept. Costa Rica: 365. Guayasamin, Castroviejo-Fisher, Trueb, Ayarzagüena, Rada, and Vilà, 2009, Zootaxa, 2100: 56, regarded this species as incertae sedis within Centroleninae. See account for Suriname population by Ouboter and Jairam, 2012, Amph. Suriname: 74-75. Fouquet, Vacher, Kadosoe, Jairam, and Ouboter, 2015, Herpetol. Notes, 8: 63–68, reported the species from the Sipaliwini Nature Reserve, southern Suriname. Fouquet, Vidal, and Dewynter, 2019, Zoosystema, 41: 359-374, reported the species from the Mitaraka Massif in southwestern French Guiana, on the border with Amapá, Brazil. Lescure, Dewynter, Frétey, Ineich, Ohler, Vidal, and De Massary, 2022, Bull. Soc. Herpetol. France, 181(5): 1–7, confirmed the species in French Guiana.
