Comment

In the Bufo arabicus (formerly Bufo orientalis) group of Tandy and Keith, 1972, in Blair (ed.), Evol. Genus Bufo: 160. Lanza, 1981, Monit. Zool. Ital., N.S., Suppl., 15: 155, noted that this species had been confused in considerable literature with Bufo regularis and Bufo blanfordii. See account by Scortecci, 1933, Atti Soc. Ital. Sci. Nat. Mus. Civ. Stor. Nat. Milano, 72: 24. See Largen, 2001, Tropical Zool., 14: 315, for comments on habitat and distribution. Baha El Din, 2006, Guide Rept. Amph. Egypt: 29-31, provided an account for Egypt. See account (as Bufo dodsoni), photograph, and map for Ethiopia and Eritrea by Largen and Spawls, 2010, Amph. Rept. Ethiopia Eritrea: 94.
