Distribution

Southeastern Nigeria through western Cameroon to Equatorial Guinea and Gabon, also Bioko I. (Equatorial Guinea), southern Rep. Congo, and likely in northeastern Dem. Rep. Congo and southwestern Central African Republic.

Onadeko and Rödel, 2009, Salamandra, 45: 1-14, provided records for southwestern Nigeria. Channing, Rödel, and Channing, 2012, Tadpoles of Africa: 148–150, reported on comparative tadpole morphology. Dewynter, Chirio, Melki, Cordier, and Frétey, 2017, Cah. Fondation Biotope, 11: 18, provided a brief account and photographs of this species from the Mount Koumouna-Bouali area of Gabon. Dewynter and Frétey, 2019, Cah.
