Comment
Grandison, 1972, Zool. Meded., Leiden, 47: 35, considered Bufo uzunguensis distinct from Bufo taitanus, although Tandy and Keith, 1972, in Blair (ed.), Evol. Genus Bufo: 156, considered Bufo uzunguensis a subspecies of Bufo taitanus. Channing and Howell, 2006, Amph. E. Afr.: 97-98, provided an account. Poynton, Menegon, and Salvidio, 2005, Afr. J. Herpetol., 54: 159-170, discussed the species and its systematic complexities. See photograph, map, description of geographic range and habitat, and conservation status (as Bufo uzunguensis) in Stuart, Hoffmann, Chanson, Cox, Berridge, Ramani, and Young, 2008, Threatened Amph. World: 193. Harper, Measey, Patrick, Menegon, and Vonesh, 2010, Field Guide Amph. E. Arc Mts. Tanzania and Kenya: 128–129, provided a brief account and photograph.
