Trav., Inst. R. Sci. Nat. Belg., 59: 7. Type locality: "Kankunde, Parc National de lUpemba, Belgian Congo [= Dem. Rep. Congo], . . . at an elevation of 1,300 m."

Distribution

Southern Dem. Rep. Congo, eastern Angola, and from south of Ndola in Zambia.

Comment

Considered to be in the Bufo taitanus complex by Tandy and Keith, 1972, in Blair (ed.), Evol. Genus Bufo: 156; without discussion. Channing, 2001, Amph. Cent. S. Afr.: 86, provided an account (as Bufo melanopleura).
