Breviceps montanus Power, 1926, Ann. S. Afr. Mus., 20: 466. Syntypes: AMG (1 specimen) (now PEM A4725 according Conradie, Branch, and Watson, 2015, Zootaxa, 3936: 52) and SAM (2 specimens), by original designation. Type locality: "Table Mountain", Cape Peninsula, Western Cape Province, Rep. South Africa.
