Eleutherodactylus montanus Schmidt, 1919, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 41: 519. Holotype: AMNH 6434, by original designation. Type locality: "mountainous interior of the Province of Azua, [República Dominicana,] Santo Domingo"; restricted by Schwartz, 1965 "1964", Caribb. J. Sci., 4: 478, to Alto Bandera, La Vega Province, República Dominicana.
