Tomodactylus fuscus Davis and Dixon, 1955, Herpetologica, 11: 155. Holotype: TCWC 11252, by original designation. Type locality: "1 1/2 miles southeast of Huitzilac, 7800 feet, Morelos, México". Secondary homonym of Eleutherodactylus fuscus Lynn and Dent, 1943.
