Eleutherodactylus amplinympha Kaiser, Green, and Schmid, 1994, Canad. J. Zool., 72: 2220. Holotype: KU 221259, by original designation. Type locality: "near Freshwater Lake, Dominica, West Indies (ca. 61° 20´ W, 1° 20´ N; elevation ca. 800 m)."

In the Eleutherodactylus auriculatus group according to the original publication, most closely related to Eleutherodactylus martinicensis.
