Comment

Suggested to be the sister taxon of Oreobates lundbergi in the original publication. Ferro, Taffarel, Cardozo, Grosso, Puig, Suárez, and Akmentins, 2016, Comp. Cytogenet., 10: 141–156, reported on chromosome morphology. Akmentins, Boullhesen, García, and Martínez, 2022, S. Am. J. Herpetol., 25: 28–33, reported on the advertisement call, and on the basis of call analysis transferred the records from Argentina of Oreobates discoidalis to this species and suggested that records of Oreobates discoidalis from Bolivia may also belong to this species.
