Comment

Lynch, 1976, Occas. Pap. Mus. Nat. Hist. Univ. Kansas, 61: 1–24, placed the Mexican and Central American species Eleutherodactylus greggi, Eleutherodactylus glaucus, Eleutherodactylus omiltemanus, and Eleutherodactylus batrachylus in his Eleutherodactylus unistrigatus group. Ford and Savage, 1984, Occas. Pap. Mus. Nat. Hist. Univ. Kansas, 110: 1–9, considered Eleutherodactylus glaucus and Eleutherodactylus batrachylus unassignable to species group and regarded the remaining species (Eleutherodactylus greggi, Eleutherodactylus omiltemanus, and a new species, Eleutherodactylus daryi) to form a monophyletic group (their Eleutherodactylus omiltemanus group) not associated with the Eleutherodactylus unistrigatus group. In the Eleutherodactylus (Craugastor) rhodopis group of Lynch and Duellman, 1997, Univ. Kansas Mus. Nat. Hist. Spec. Publ., 23: 225, and Lynch, 2000, Rev. Acad. Colomb. Cienc. Exact. Fis. Nat., 24: 129–156, who also discussed this species (pp. 136–138). See photograph, map, description of geographic range and habitat, and conservation status in Stuart, Hoffmann, Chanson, Cox, Berridge, Ramani, and Young, 2008, Threatened Amph. World: 306. In the Craugastor (Craugastor) mexicanus species series of Padial, Grant, and Frost, 2014, Zootaxa, 3825: 123.
