Along forested streams on the eastern flank of the Cordillera Central, Antioquia, Tolima, and Caldas departments, Colombia, ca. 1100–1850 m elevation.

In the subgenus Pristimantis, but unnassigned to species group by Hedges, Duellman, and Heinicke, 2008, Zootaxa, 1737: 118. Not assignable to a species group according to Padial, Grant, and Frost, 2014, Zootaxa, 3825: 127.
