Eleutherodactylus venancioi Lutz, 1958, Mem. Oswaldo Cruz, Rio de Janeiro, 56: 374. Syntypes: IOC (6 specimens), now in MNRJ. Type locality: "Serra dos Órgãos, Teresópolis, E. do Rio. Lat. 22° 26′ ; Long. 42° 48′ O. Greenwich; alt. 800-1000 m" (Portuguese text), "Organ Mountains, at Teresopolis, in the Maritime Range, S. E. Brazil Lat. 22°, 26′ ; Long. 42° 58′ W. Gr.; alt. 2500-3300 feet" (English text), southeastern Brazil.
