Barbourula kalimantanensis Iskandar, 1978, Copeia, 1978: 565. Holotype: MZB Amph. 2330, by original designation. Type locality: "Nanga Sayan (0° 44′ S; 111° 40′ E), 33 km south of Nanga Pinoh, West Kalimantan [Borneo], Indonesia".

English Names

Kalimantan Jungle Toad (Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 38).

Bornean Flat-headed Frog (Stuart, Hoffmann, Chanson, Cox, Berridge, Ramani, and Young, 2008, Threatened Amph. World: 155).

Distribution

Known from central and western Borneo (West and Central Kalimantan, Indonesia) from the Tengkalap, Mendawai, and Melawi river basin areas.

Comment

Iskandar, 1995, Raffles Bull. Zool., 43: 309–311, reported on a second specimen from the vicinity of the type locality and redescribed the species. Santoso, Shonleben, Sapari, and Sadikin, 2006, Herpetol. Bull., London, 98: 7–9, reported a specimen from central Kalimantan (Borneo), Indonesia.
