Channing, Rödel, and Channing, 2012, Tadpoles of Africa: 120, reported on comparative tadpole morphology. Schiøtz, 1999, Treefrogs Afr.: 276–277, provided a brief account and map. Reyes-Velasco, Manthey, Freilich, and Boissinot, 2018, Mol. Ecol., 27: 2256–2270, discussed the molecular phylogenetics of the species of the Ethiopian highlands, showing showing Leptopelis ragazzii, Leptopelis vannutellii, and Leptopelis yaldeni to form a monophyletic group. Channing and Rödel, 2019, Field Guide Frogs & Other Amph. Afr.: 222–223, provided a brief account, photograph, and range map. Kassie Teme, Bekele Simegn, and Afework Bogale, 2022, Global Ecol. Conserv., 38 (e02211): 1–12, reported the species from Keffa Zone, southwestern Ethiopia, and discussed habitat.
