Comment

Rödel and Pauwels, 2003, Salamandra, 39: 144, suggested that the record for Mount Alén in Equatorial Guinea (De la Riva, 1994, Rev. Esp. Herpetol., 8; Lasso, Rial, Castroviejo, and De la Riva, 2002, Graellsia, 58: 28), probably referred to a specimen of Leptodactylodon stevarti or an undescribed species. See photograph, map, description of geographic range and habitat, and conservation status in Stuart, Hoffmann, Chanson, Cox, Berridge, Ramani, and Young, 2008, Threatened Amph. World: 151.
