See photograph, map, description of geographic range and habitat, and conservation status in Stuart, Hoffmann, Chanson, Cox, Berridge, Ramani, and Young, 2008, Threatened Amph. World: 146. Loader, Poynton, Lawson, Blackburn, and Menegon, 2011, Fieldiana, Life Earth Sci., 4: 94, restricted the range to the West Usambara Mountains, implying that records from the East Usambara, Nguru, and Ukaguru Mountains are based on misidentifications. Harper, Measey, Patrick, Menegon, and Vonesh, 2010, Field Guide Amph. E. Arc Mts. Tanzania and Kenya: 56–57, provided a brief account for the Eastern Arc Mountains of Tanzania.
