Siphonops brasiliensis Lütken, 1851, Vidensk. Medd. Dansk Naturhist. Foren., 1851: 52. Holotype: ZMUC 11 RO-237, according to Taylor, 1968, Caecilians of the World: 588; now ZMUC R. 0237 by museum records (personal commun., H. Kristensen, 24 Nov. 2010). Type locality: "Brasilien"; corrected to São Paulo, Brazil, by Taylor, 1973, Univ. Kansas Sci. Bull., 50: 226, and this confirmed by museum records.
