Rhinatrema shiv Gower, Wilkinson, Sherratt, and Kok, 2010, Zootaxa, 2391: 48. Holotype: IRSNB 1991, by original designation. Type locality: "along Sir Donald’s trail ca. 2 km from a tributary of the Elinkwa River, ESE Kaieteur National Park, Guyana, ca. 540 m elevation (5°08′ N, 59°25′ W)".

Comment

Confused with Rhinatrema bivittatum prior to its naming. Kok and Kalamandeen, 2008, Intr. Taxon. Amph. Kaieteur Natl. Park: 246-247, provided an account for this species as Rhinatrema cf bivittatumMaciel, Sampaio, Hoogmoed, and Schneider, 2018, S. Am. J. Herpetol., 13: 287–299, discussed the phylogenetic placement of the species and provided a dot map.
