Ichthyophis moustakius Kamei, Wilkinson, Gower, and Biju, 2009, Zootaxa, 2267: 32. Holotype: BNHS5213, by original designation. Type locality: "Aziuram duikhun (duikhun = a pond) (25°01′43″N, 93°24′51″E; 990 m asl), Aziuram village, Tamenglong district, Manipur, India".

Manipur Striped Caecilian (Dinesh, Radhakrishnan, Deepak, and Kulkarni, 2023, Fauna India Checklist, vers. 5.0 : 16).

Distribution

Currently known only from Tamenglong District, Manipur, and Mamit and Aizawl districts, Mizoram, in northeastern India.

Purkayastha, 2017, Herpetol. Rev., 48: 582, provided a record from Guwahati Metropolitan District, Manipur, northeastern India. Chaitanya, Lalremsanga, and Giri, 2017, Check List, 13(4): 101–105, provided a record from Mizoram, northeastern India. See Kamei, 2017, Das (ed.), Diversity Ecol. Amph. India: 49–72, for a review of this species. Lalremsanga, Purkayastha, Mathipi, Muansanga, Decemson, and Biakzuala, 2021, Check List, 17: 1021–1029, provided a genetically confirmed record for central Mizoram, northeastern India, and mapped the range.
