Comment

See Savage and Wake, 2001, Copeia, 2001: 52–64, substantially revised this species by the recognition of Dermophis occidentalis and Dermophis glanudulosus. Lynch, 2000 "1999", Rev. Acad. Colomb. Cienc. Exact. Fis. Nat., 23: 330, commented briefly on distribution in Colombia, although these populations are now recognized as Dermophis glandulosus. See account by Savage, 2002, Amph. Rept. Costa Rica: 118. Köhler, 2011, Amph. Cent. Am.: 30–32, compared this species to others in Central America, provided maps, and photographs.  Kubicki and Arias, 2023, Mesoam.
