Oedipina (Oedopinola) fortunensis Köhler, Ponce, and Batista, 2007, Senckenb. Biol., 87: 214. Holotype: SMF 85064, by original designation. Type locality: "Reserva Forestal Fortuna, near Finca de Gustavo Santamaría, 8° 43′ 52″ N, 82° 15′ 35″ W, 1270 m, Chiriquí, Panama".

Comment

Most similar to Oedipina savagei according to the original publication. Hertz, Lotzkat, Stadler, Hamad, Carrizo, and Köhler, 2011, Herpetol. Rev., 42: 248, reported measurements for the second specimen of the species from Reserva Forestal Fortuna, near Río Hornito, Chiriqui, Panama, 1300 m elevation. Köhler, 2011, Amph. Cent. Am.: 82–90, compared this species with others from Central America and provided a map and photograph. Himes and Enge, 2013, Herpetol. Rev., 44 102, reported on a third specimen from the vicinity of the type locality. Raffaëlli, 2013, Urodeles du Monde, 2nd ed.: 376, provided a brief account, photograph, and range map. Raffaëlli, 2022, Salamanders & Newts of the World: 857, provided an account summarizing systematics, life history, population status, and distribution (including a polygon map).
