Rhacophorus hoanglienensis Orlov, Lathrop, Murphy, and Ho, 2001, Russ. J. Herpetol., 8: 41. Holotype: ROM 37997, by original designation. Type locality: "Fan Si Pan Mountain, north part of Hoang Lien Mountains, Sa Pa district, Lao Cai Province; 1400 m elevation (18° 19′ 59″ N, 103° 49′ 35″ E)", Vietnam.

Distribution

Known from montane Lao Cai (Sa Pa District), Thuyen Quang, Ha giang, and Vinh Phuc provinces in northern Vietnam; likely to extend into adjacent Yunnan, China.

Comment

Most similar to Rhacophorus bipunctatus according to the original publication. Bain and Nguyen, 2004, Am. Mus. Novit., 3453: 32, provided the record for Ha Giang Province, Vietnam. Orlov, Nguyen, and Ho, 2008, Russ. J. Herpetol., 15: 67–84, provided a photograph and a key to differentiate this species from others in Vietnam. Ostroshabov, Orlov, and Nguyen, 2013, Russ. J. Herpetol., 20: 302–306, rediagnosed the species and provided a discussion of range.
