Ixalus signatus Boulenger, 1882, Cat. Batr. Sal. Coll. Brit. Mus., Ed. 2: 106. Syntypes: Including BMNH 1947.2.24.33-34 and 1947.2.27.35-42 according to Bossuyt and Dubois, 2001, Zeylanica, 6: 30, who designated BMNH 1947.2.27.36 as lectotype and described it on page 74-75. Type locality: "Malabar", South India; restricted by Bossuyt and Dubois, 2001, Zeylanica, 6: 30 to "Nilgherries" (= Nilgiri Hillis), Tamil Nadu, India.

Distribution

Nilgiri Hills of the southern Western Ghats, southwestern India (Tamil Nadu: Coonoor, Kothagiri, Udhagamandalam, Naduvattam, Avalanche, and Parsons Valley), below 2000 m elevation, extending into adjacent Kerala.
