Distribution

High gradient rainforests in central Vietnam in Danang, Hue, and Kon Tum provinces at 1000-1400 m elevation; Xe Sap National Protected Area, Salavan Province, Laos, 1120 m elevation.

Comment

Most similar to Aquixalus gracilipes (as Philautus) according to the original publication. Nguyen, Ho, and Nguyen, 2005, Checklist Amph. Rept. Vietnam: 36, provided specific localities for Vietnam. Luu, Calame, Nguyen, Ohler, Bonkowski, and Ziegler, 2014, Herpetol. Notes, 7: 419-423, provided the first record in Laos (Salavan Province). Rowley, Dau, Hoang, Nguyen, Le, and Altig, 2015, Amphibia-Reptilia, 36: 277–285, provided information on larval morphology and advertisement call.
