Huia absita Stuart and Chan-ard, 2005, Copeia, 2005: 282. Holotype: FMNH 258107, by original designation. Type locality: "Laos, Xe Kong Province, Kaleum Distict, Xe Sap National Biodiversity Conservation Area, 8 m from a small tributary of the Houay Alung Stream, on a 3 cm diameter tree branch 1 m above the ground, 16° 00′ 32″ N, 106° 55′ 31″ E, 920-1000 m elevation".

Distribution

Known from the Xe Sap National Biodiversity Conservation Area, in Xe Kong and Saravane Provinces, southern Laos, 920-1300 m elevation, and Tra My District, Ngoc Linh Mountain Range, Quang Nam Province, as well as Kon Tum and Thua Thien-Hue provinces in Vietnam.

Most similar to Huia masonii according to the original publication. Bain and Nguyen, 2005, Herpetol. Rev., 36: 332, provided the Quang Name Province, Vietnam, record. Bain, Nguyen, and Doan, 2007, Herpetol. Rev., 38: 108, provided records from Thua Thien-Hue and Kon Tum provinces, Vietnam.
