Syntypes: BMNH (3 specimens), by original designation; BMNH 1899.11.30.9–11 (reregistered as 1947.2.4.62–64) are the syntypes according to museum records. Type locality: "Five-finger Mountains [= Mt. Wuzhi], in the interior of the island", Hainan, China.
