Comment

Orlov, Murphy, Ananjeva, Ryabov, and Ho, 2002, Russ. J. Herpetol., 9: 86, provided the Vietnam range prior to the partition of the species (see below). Stuart, 1999, in Duckworth et al. (eds.), Wildlife in Lao PDR: 45, reported an additional population in Laos near the type locality, followed by Stuart, 2005, Herpetol. Rev., 36: 476, who provided another. Nguyen, Ho, and Nguyen, 2005, Checklist Amph. Rept. Vietnam: 19, provided specific localities for Vietnam prior to the partition of the species (see below). Bain, Nguyen, and Doan, 2007, Herpetol. Rev., 38: 109, provided a record from Quang Binh Province, Vietnam. See statement of geographic range, habitat, and conservation status in Stuart, Hoffmann, Chanson, Cox, Berridge, Ramani, and Young, 2008, Threatened Amph. World: 628, prior to the partition of the species (see below). In the Amolops larutensis group of Zeng, Liang, Li, Lyu, Wang, and Zhang, 2020, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 146 (106753): 1–9,  Wu, Yan, Stuart, Prendini, Suwannapoom, Dahn, Zhang, Cai, Xu, Jiang, Chen, Lemmon, Lemmon, Raxworthy, Orlov, Murphy, and Che, 2020, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 144 (106701): 1–13, and Jiang, Ren, Lyu, Wang, Wang, Lv, Wu, and Li, 2021, Zool. Res., Kunming, 42: 574–591, who discussed molecular phylogenetics. The concept of this species was changed substantially by  Sheridan, Phimmachak, Sivongxay, and Stuart, 2023, Vert. Zool., Senckenberg, 73: 91–956, with the naming of four species (Amolops tanfuilianae, Amolops sengae, Amolops kottelati, and Amolops attiguus) from within the former range, distinguished on the basis of mt- and nuDNA molecular markers, coloration, and larval and adult morphology.
