Tomopterna gallmanni Wasonga and Channing, 2013, Zootaxa, 3734: 229. Holotype: NMK A/5039/1, by original designation. Type locality: "an artificial water pond, Dam Ya Colin, in Ol Ari Nyiro, Laikipia Nature Conservancy, Laikipia County, Kenya (0° 34’ N; 36° 24’ E)". 

English Names

Gallmann's Sand Frog (original publication). 

Distribution

Laikipia Plateau of Kenya, with two northern populations in the Maralal and Baragoi areas.

Comment

A cryptic species with little in the way of morphology to distinguish it beyond molecular markers and advertisement call, according to the original publication. Spawls, Wasonga, and Drewes, 2019, Amph. Kenya: 36, provided a photograph, range map, and brief characterization. Channing and Rödel, 2019, Field Guide Frogs & Other Amph. Afr.: 380–381, provided a brief account, photograph, and range map.
