Ptychadena wadei Largen, 2000, Tropical Zool., 13: 172. Holotype: MCZ 51563, by original designation. Type locality: "Tisisat, Ethiopia (11° 28′ N, 37° 38′ E, altitude 1800 m)".

English Names

Wade's Grass Frog (Largen and Spawls, 2010, Amph. Rept. Ethiopia Eritrea: 186).

Distribution

Known only from the Lake Tana region along the road from Bahar Dar to the Tisist Falls of the Blue Nile, Ethiopia, at 1800-1850 m elevation; presumably will be found to have a more extensive range.

Comment

Most similar to Ptychadena ingeri according to the original publication. Largen, 2001, Tropical Zool., 14: 343, commented on distribution. Kassie Teme, 2016, J. Zool. Stud., 3(4): 1–6, reported a population from Arbatuensesa, northwestern Ethiopia. Channing and Rödel, 2019, Field Guide Frogs & Other Amph. Afr.: 342–343, provided a brief account, photograph, and range map.
