Phrynobatrachus sulfureogularis Laurent, 1951, Rev. Zool. Bot. Afr., 44: 362. Holotype: MRAC unnumbered, according to the original publication. Type locality: "Massif du Nanzergwa, 2300-2500 m, Territoire de Bururi, Urundi [=Burundi]", Central Africa.

Distribution

Known only from the type locality in the Massif of Nanzergwa, western Burundi, and the Mahal Mountains, eastern Tanzania.

Natural Resident: Burundi, Tanzania

Comment

Not addressed by Zimkus, Rödel, and Hillers, 2010, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 55: 883-900, so not assigned to species group. Lawson and Zimkus, 2011, Fieldiana, Life Earth Sci., 4: 112–116, reported the species from the Mahale Mountains of western Tanzania and rediagnosed the species. Channing and Rödel, 2019, Field Guide Frogs & Other Amph. Afr.: 270–271, provided a brief account, photograph, and range map.
