Mixophyes balbus Straughan, 1968, Proc. Linn. Soc. New South Wales, 93: 55. Holotype: AMS R25922, by original designation. Type locality: "Point Lookout, New England National Park, N. S. W. [New South Wales, Australia], between 4,250 and 4,750 feet altitude".

Distribution

Drainages that flow to the east of the Great Dividing Range from the upper reaches of the Timbarra River catchment in north-eastern New South Wales, Australia, south to the northern catchments of the Macleay River, mostl between 600–1500 m elevation.
