Zool., 3(1): 112, "from a drawing made in New Holland [Australia], its native country". NMS R104952, designated neotype by Mahony, Penman, Bertozzi, Lemckert, Bilney, and Donnellan, 2021, Zootaxa, 5016: 476. Coast and eastern slope of the Great Dividing Range from the central coast of New South Wales to eastern Victoria, Australia, 0–1000 m elevation.
