Comment

The sister taxon of the remaining species of Micryletta according to the original publication. Das, Garg, Hamidy, Smith, and Biju, 2019, PeerJ, 7(e7012): 1–32, suggested that their Micryletta cf. nigromaculata from Bolikhamxay, Thaphabat District, Bolikhamsai Province, northwest-central Laos represents a distinct species from those populations in Vietnam. Pham, Nguyen, Sung, Tran, Le, and Ngo, 2023, Acta Herpetol., Firenze, 18: 131–138, reported populations from Son La Province, northwestern Vietnam, and discussed habitat and dietary ecology.
