Comment

Bokermann, in the original publication, suggested that Chiasmocleis schubarti is allied to Chiasmocleis leucosticta; Carvalho, 1954, Occas. Pap. Mus. Zool. Univ. Michigan, 555: 11, suggested affinities with Chiasmocleis bicegoi. See account by Cruz, Caramaschi, and Izecksohn, 1997, Alytes, 15: 49-71. Pimenta and Silvano, 2002, Herpetol. Rev., 33: 219, provided the Bahia record and commented on the range.  In the Chiasmocleis albopunctata clade of Peloso, Sturaro, Forlani, Gaucher, Motta, and Wheeler, 2014, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 386: 20. Santos, Pezzuti, Leite, and Garcia, 2015, Zootaxa, 4000: 137–140, reported on larval morphology.
