Hylophorbus richardsi Günther, 2001, Russ. J. Herpetol., 8: 95. Holotype: ZMB 62402, by original designation. Type locality: "Mt. Sisa Lower Camp, Southern Highlands Province of Papua New Guinea, 06° 07.545′ S, 142° 46.091′ E, altitude 2000 m NN".

Distribution

Known only from the vicinity of the type locality at 2000 m elevation in mid-montane forst on Mount Sisa, and also 55 km to the northwest on the eastern slope of Mount Itukua, Muller Range, Southern Highlands Province, Papua New Guinea.

Menzies, 2006, Frogs New Guinea & Solomon Is.: 251, provided a brief account. Shea and Kraus, 2007, Zootaxa, 1514: 37-60, commented on types. Kraus, 2010, Herpetol. Rev., 41: 246-248, provided the first record away from the type locality.
