Albericus brevicrus Günther and Richards, 2012 "2011", Vert. Zool., Dresden, 61: 349. Holotype: SAMA R66100, by original designation. Type locality: "Paiela Road (05° 30.183′ S, 143° 04.866′ E; 2,900 m asl), near Porgera Town, Enga Province, Papua New Guinea". Junior secondary homonym of Oxydactyla brevicrus Van Kampen, 1913, when both are in Asterophrys. Also a junior secondary homonym of Oreophryne brevicrus Zweifel. 1956, when considered congeneric.

West mossy mid-montane rainforest adjacent to Lake Tawa (2200 m elevation) and along the Paiela Road near Porgera, Enga Province, Papua New Guinea.
