Barygenys cheesmanae Parker, 1936, Ann. Mag. Nat. Hist., Ser. 10, 17: 74. Holotype: BMNH 1935.3.9.125, by original designation; renumbered as BMNH 1947.2.10.84 according to Zweifel, 1972, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 148: 440. Type locality: "Mt. Tafa (8500 ft.), Papua" (5 mi. SE Mondo, Central Province, Papua New Guinea).
