Austrochaperina yelaensis Zweifel, 2000, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 253: 54. Holotype: AMNH 135406, by original designation. Type locality: "at an elevation of 700 m on the south slopes of Mt. Rossel, Yela (= Rossel) Island, Milne Bay Province, Papua New Guinea".

Known from the type locality on Mount Rossel, Yela I., and Sudest (= Tagula) I., in Milne Bay Province, Papua New Guinea.
