Megophrys kobayashii Malkmus and Matsui, 1997, Sauria, Berlin, 19: 31. Holotype: KUHE 18817, by original designation. Type locality: "Headquarters, Mount Kinabalu (Sabah), Malaysia (6° 02′ N, 116° 30′ E), 1650 m Höhe".

Mount Kinabalu, the Crocker Range, and Mount Trus Madi, Sabah, Malaysia, 1300-1600 m elevation.

Comment

Most closely related to Megophrys ligayae (= Megophrys montana) according to the original publication. Malkmus, Manthey, Vogel, Hoffmann, and Kosuch, 2002, Amph. Rept. Mount Kinabalu: 110-111, provided an account.
