Guibemantis (Guibemantis) diphonus Vences, Jovanovic, Safarek, Glaw, and Köhler, 2015, Zootaxa, 4059: 570. Holotype: ZSM 2665/2007, by original designation. Type locality: "Manombo Special Reserve (coordinates not taken, but about -23.01 / 47.73), Fianarantsoa Province, southeastern Madagascar".
