Pleurodema bufonina Bell, 1843, Zool. Voyage Beagle, Part 5: 39. Syntypes: Not designated; BMNH (2 specimens) according to Boulenger, 1882, Cat. Batr. Sal. Coll. Brit. Mus., Ed. 2: 230, these being 1845.5.22.28 (now renumbered 1947.2.17.93) and 1933.3.7.58 (now renumbered 1947.2.17.94) according to museum records. Type locality: "Port Desire [= Puerto Deseado], in Patagonia, and high up the river Santa Cruz", Argentina.

Distribution

Patagonian Argentina and in Chile from the Península de Brunswick (Región de Magallanes) north to the Laguna del Maule (Región del Maule).
