Type(s): Not stated, presumably in MNCN; MNCN 1673 considered holotype by González-Fernández, 2006, Graellsia, 62: 136, and González-Fernández, García-Díez, and San Segundo, 2009, Spixiana, München, 32: 270. Type locality: "in Ecuador; ad ripas flum. Napo".

Bubonias plicifrons Cope, 1874, Proc. Acad. Nat. Sci. Philadelphia, 26: 124. Syntypes: ANSP (2 specimens), presumably lost as not noted in type list. Type locality: "Nauta", Departamento Loreto, Peru. Synonymy by Dunn, 1949, Am. Mus. Novit., 1416: 1-10.

Edalorhina buckleyi Boulenger, 1882, Cat. Batr. Sal. Coll. Brit. Mus., Ed. 2: 228. Holotype: BMNH, by original designation, this being BMNH 1947.2.30.87 (originally 1880.12.5.194) according to museum records. Type locality: "Canelos", Ecuador. Synonymy by Dunn, 1949, Am. Mus. Novit., 1416: 1-10.
